Chapter Seven: Psychic Games

Games are the best way to learn any new skill. The best teachers know this, and make learning a joy. Each of the following allows you to practice your psychic skills and those of your pet with a variety of games. Continue to use the Pet ESP cards included with this kit, but rotate with some of the following suggested games. Of course, games of your own devising are just as good.

Hide & Seek: Think of hiding a favorite toy of your pet. See if the pet scampers to find it where you imagined putting it. Be sure to reward it if it does.

Psychic Shuffle: Show one of the Pet ESP cards to your pet. Then place five different cards into closed containers. Shuffle the containers around while your pet is not looking. Then see if she can tell where the original card is. If she bats at or plays with the correct container, praise her.

Telepathy Tug-o-War: You and a friend sit opposite each other, with your pet in-between. Each of you try mentally to encourage the pet to approach you. The person to whom the pet goes first, wins!

Psionic Fetch: If you are training dogs, you can teach them psionic fetch. While your dog is not in the area, hide a stick or small toy. Then let the dog into the area and watch it find the toy by psychic power.

Cosmic Catch: Set out several food dishes for your pet. Mark each one with a different symbol from the Pet ESP cards. Then, without looking, picture which dish your pet has used. Do this every day. Your pet can send you images of the proper symbol, which you can learn to catch.

Mental Menus: Before playing with your pet, imagine five alternative games. “Label” each one in your mind with one of the Pet ESP symbols. Then produce the five tasselled Pet ESP cards. When your pet bats at one, you know which activity she prefers.

Telepathic Treasure Hunt: If you have a particularly strong telepathic bond with your pet, this one should be plenty of fun for both of you. Give your pet a toy, something she can carry. Instruct her to hide it somewhere in the house or yard. While she’s doing that, close your eyes, and count to one hundred. When you’ve finished counting, see if you can read your pet’s mind, and find the toy!

You can make telepathy a part of your every-day life. Practice sending mental images to a dog, for example, before taking her on a walk. She may learn to get her own leash ready, perhaps when you’re not even home.
